Why Let’s Yoga

Let’s Yoga combines the mind, body and breath connection benefits from yoga with core occupational therapy principles that focus on increasing individuals participation, access and wellbeing for a meaningful life.

Let’s Yoga workshops focus on three domains:

  1. Person:

    • Developing self acceptance and positive self image.

    • Building confidence and feelings of empowerment.

    • Reducing feelings of anxiety and everyday stress.

    • Promoting increased concentration and focus.

    • Encouraging sensory and emotional regulation.

    • Increasing muscle strength and supporting high or low muscle tone and joint hypermobility.

    • Improving coordination, motor planning, body awareness, and balance skills.

  2. Environment:

    • Encourages use of social skills and bonding between families and other participants to create a sense of community.

    • Includes people living with disabilities or additional needs in the Perth yoga and health community.

    • Supports the communities value of inclusion, accessibility, mindfulness, physical activity and health.

  3. Occupation:

    • Yoga classes that assist in achieving participants therapy and health goals.

    • Yoga classes that have postures, mindfulness and breath techniques that accessible and modifiable for a wide range of disabilities and additional needs.

    • Yoga classes in an accessible space with the use of props for support.
